Here’s What I Got for $100
I had been really been telling myself that I needed to get back in shape. Physical activities are not my favorite way to spend an hour of my day, so I’ve always struggled with staying in shape. A big part of this is not feeling very comfortable in a gym setting. So, I decided to motivate myself the best way I know how…new clothes!
After doing a bit of research, I finally settled on a gorgeous pair of leggings from Fabletics. And then I saw the price and got extra excited!! They retailed for $69.95 and were reduced to $49.95 for VIP members. On top of that, if you’re new to Fabletics and you sign up to be a VIP member, you get two leggings for $25!
So then I was sold! But in addition to all of that fun stuff, Fabletics was offering 65% off your entire purchase. Can you say “add to cart?”
In total, I got:
- Aubrey Tank
- Salar Solid PowerHold Capri
- Elora High Support Sports Bra
- Salar Printed PowerHold Capri
- Deidra High Support Sports Bra
- The Essential Yoga Mat
- Terri Tank
- Salar Printed PowerHold Capri
- Peri Sports Bra
For a grand total of $105.61!
That’s a savings of $195!!! Ummmm, that’s a steal, you guys!
I was a little skeptical of the quality of Fabletics leggings. I mean, we’ve all heard the rave reviews of Lululemon and Athleta… but Fabletics? When I did some research, I actually found lots of testimonials from women who swear by Fabletics! Some even claimed that their Fabletics pieces have held up 4 years later!
I must say, I believe them! Straight away, I could tell that these leggings were a much better quality than what I had been buying. The material is thick and super stretchy. The inside of the printed leggings are lined with a darker material, making these leggings completely squat proof! Hollllla!!
Both of the tops I got are pretty solid. I wouldn’t say they’re spectacular, but, there’s nothing really wrong with them. If you really like a design of a shirt or you want to make a whole outfit, then the Fabletics shirts aren’t too bad! But if you’re just buying a shirt because you think it’s totally amazing, you might be a teensy bit disappointed when you get it!
I am really pleased with the quality of the all of the sports bras that I got from Faletics. However, the fit of them was just all over the place! More on that below!
Overall, sizing was pretty true to size. I ordered a large in two of the leggings and an x-large in one just to compare comfort. I thought that the large’s were a teensy bit snug, not too uncomfortably snug, but snug none-the-less. But the x-large’s were definitely too big! Plus, all this working out should help them feel a little less snug, right? That’s what’s motivating me!
The bras are what I had the most trouble with! I’m really glad that there is a physical Fabletics store in Lexington because if not, these bras would have been massive on me! Granted, I have pretty short shoulders, but I’m usually right between a medium and large. I popped in the store to try on the leggings and figured it couldn’t hurt to try on the Deidra High Support Sports Bra. Thankfully I did because it was HUGE in the medium! I kind of assumed that was going to the case for all of their other bras so I ordered a small for all of them….but that wasn’t quite so.
I think that the high support or high impact bras do run a little large (especially if you have short shoulders like me) and their normal support bras run truer to size. The coral Peri bra (size small) with the side cutout is probably too small, while the orange and coral Deidra high impact bra (size small) is still a teensy bit big. However, the black Elora high impact bra (size small) fits juuuust right, so I really don’t know what to tell you in terms of fit for these bras other than looking at the reviews! Regardless, they are really great quality! Don’t let the sizing scare you too much, Fabletics VIP’s get free exchanges!
But what about this
I know, I know. It’s scary to sign up for an automated billing service, especially when it’s for something that you don’t necessarily need every month. That’s totally cool! The full retail price of Fabletics leggings are still cheaper than other brands like Nike and Lululemon and you can totally buy Fabletics leggings without a VIP membership!
But if you can’t get over the AMAZING deals that VIP members receive across the site, here’s how it all works:
- New styles are released the first of the month
- Fabletics will send you an email letting you know there are new goodies to shop!
- You have 5 days to shop and decide which styles you MUST have!!
- On the 6th day, your card will be charged $49.95
But what if I didn’t want anything this month??? No worries! The folks at Fabletics totally get that you may not want to shop every single month! Just log into your account before the 6th of the month and hit the handy-dandy skip button. There are no limits to how many months you can skip, either!
[Side note: I once signed up for a JustFab membership (which operates the same exact way, by the same exact company) just for a $10 pair of shoes. But I was too lazy to cancel my membership so I got on and skipped every month after that first purchased for 2 WHOLE YEARS until I finally canceled it!]
But Rachel, I’m going to forget to skip and then I’ll be charged for nothing! Woahhhhh, slow down there girlfriend, I got chu! First, I am THE most forgetful person on this planet, I totally understand where you’re coming from on this one! What I do is go into my “Reminders” app on my phone and set a monthly reminder to skip. Set the priority level on high (!!!), that way it shows as a persistent notification until you check it off!
But, if you still forget to skip and are charged, it won’t be for nothing! That charge gets held onto your account as a credit for you to use the next time you feel ready to buy! The credit is an equal transfer of the charge, so do worry about your money getting lost in translation. Think of it as a gift card on your account.
Speaking of canceling, if you try out Fabletics, but just feel like you don’t need new, cute workout gear allll the time, don’t fret! Just log onto your account and hit cancel membership. From there, you can either call their headquarters and they can cancel your membership, or you can chat online with a representative and they’ll take care of you! I will say though… it is a bit of a hassle. They will ask you a couple of times if you really want to cancel and then they’ll even offer you a really enticing discount. But if you’re firm with them, after a couple no’s, they’ll cancel it for you.
At the end of the day, do I recommend Fabletics? 100%! The quality of the pieces I got are so much better than anything I have gotten from TJ Maxx and they have some amazing sales towards the end of the month! If you’re in the market for some new workout gear, you must give Fabletics a try!
